For Subterranean, Nick took over the basement of the former Friedrichschoehe Brewery at Landsberger Allee 54, once one of the largest breweries in Europe.
Never before used as an art space, the dark and cavernous basement provided Nick with new oppportunities to create animations of dystopic spaces which could be exhibited in situ to emphasise the blurring of boundaries between the world of television and the world around us. Four televisions sit in shadowy corners of the basement space, while glitchy industrial noise fills the void which viewers must navigate in near total darkness, making their way tentatively from one point of light to another.
